Course Schedule: Robotics Workshop

Day 1

Morning

  • Introduction to Robotics:
    Overview of robotics, its applications, and the fundamental components of a robot.
  • Basics of Robotics:
    • Understanding sensors, actuators, and controllers.
    • Introduction to kinematics, dynamics, and motion control.
  • Design Planning & Sizing:
    • Selecting components based on the robot’s purpose.
    • Calculating load, power requirements, and mobility systems.
    • Choosing microcontrollers, sensors, and motors.

Afternoon

  • Materials and Construction Techniques:
    Introduction to materials used for robotics, such as aluminum, 3D-printed parts, and composites.
  • Hands-on Building of a Line-Following Robot:
    Step-by-step construction of a simple line-following robot under expert guidance.

 

Day 2

Morning

  • Integration of Electronics and Programming:
    • Wiring and installing sensors, motors, and controllers.
    • Programming microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino) to process sensor data and control movement.
  • Design and Building an Obstacle-Avoiding Robot:
    Basics of designing a robot capable of obstacle detection and autonomous navigation. Start assembling the model.

Afternoon

  • Completion of the Obstacle-Avoiding Robot:
    Final assembly, programming, and testing.
  • Testing and Demonstration:
    Participants will test the functionality of both robots built during the workshop, with live demonstrations of their capabilities.
